Catharine is an independent EAL and Ethnic Minority Achievement consultant. She has worked in the field of EAL in secondary schools and local authorities in London and the South East since 1989. She completed work for both London and Manchester Challenge supporting school leadership in self evaluation, audit and review of EAL at whole school level and was a course tutor for the Islington EMAS MA course.
In addition to her teaching career, Catharine has specialised in training teachers to integrate language and content and develop literacy across the curriculum for more advanced EAL learners. Catharine also has expertise in monitoring, tracking and use of data to raise achievement of EAL and BME students at whole school level.
She is an experienced writer and workshop presenter and is an accredited tutor for the TESMC (LiLAC) course.
